New singers to WME! A rising comedian to CAA! John Legend gets a new agency and K-Pop Demon Hunters folks get new representation! All this and more in Notes From the Rep Biz!

 

At WME:

Singer/songwriter Myles Morgan is now repped by WME. Morgan’s singles “Nobody’s Fault But Yours” and “Jon Boat or a Yacht” have reached over one million streams and his debut EP featuring the single “I Still Got It,” will be released later this year.

 

Grammy nominated singer, songwriter, and actor Maluma is also a new sign for WME. Since his debut in 2010, Maluma has managed 24 number 1 hits on Billboard’s Latin Airplay Chart. But music isn’t the only thing Maluma’s got going on, his athletic wear brand Remanance was launched last year. He was also the voice of Mariano in Pixar’s Encanto in both the English release and the Latin American Spanish version.

 

Fifteen year-old Freya Skye is also now agented by WME. Skye rose to prominence with her single “Lose My Head” which she performed at 2022 Junior Eurovision. But that’s not all, Skye will be making her acting debut in the Disney Channel original movie Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires. She is currently on tour performing songs from Zombies 4 as well as her own original tracks.

 

 

At CAA:

Actor Harry Melling is a new sign for CAA. Melling is best known for playing Dudley Dursley in the Harry Potter films, and will next be seen in Harry Lighton’s Pillion opposite Alexander Skarsgard. 

 

CAA also now reps singer, swimmer, and actor Cody SimpsonSimpson made his debut with the album Paradise in 2012. From there he has acted on Broadway in Anastasia, on TV with guest spots on Cougar Town, and the thriller film Smiley Face Killers. In 2022 he joined the Australian Swim Team. He also has a brand deal with Speedo.

 

Comedian Katherine Blanford is also now agented by the Death Star. A rising star in the comedy world, Blanford was named as one of 15 comedians to watch, by Deadline and was part of the New Faces Showcase at the Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal.

 

 

At UTA:

EGOT winner John Legend has signed with UTA. Legend is just about to start the North American portion of his Get Lifted tour. He’s also set to join The Voice for its next season.

 

Scottish actor Jamie Roy is also now agented by UTA. Roy’s breakout came in the Outlander prequel series Blood of My Blood, which just started airing this month. 

 

K-Pop Demon Hunters singer Rei Ami is now repped by UTA. The singer, actress and rapper’s debut album Foil was released in 2020, and her song “Freak,” went viral on TikTok that same year. ReiAmi provided the singing voice for Zoey on Netflix and Sony’s breakout hit K-Pop Demon Hunters.

 

 

OTHER NOTES AROUND TOWN

Actress Adia is now agented by Gersh. The actress is best known for her debut role in Netflix’s Midnight Club, and the HBO Max thriller series Full Circle. Adia will next be seen in Your Mother Your Mother Your Mother on Amazon along with Mahershala Ali and Giancarlo Esposito. 

 

Writer/director Henry Alexander Kelly is now managed by M88. The filmmaker is currently developing an animated mockumentary series titled NOW-WHAT?! and also performs a voice role on the podcast Tales From the Shadows.

 

Innovative Artists has signed Comedian CP and Benji BrownChris Powell (AKA Comedian CP) is a writer and producer on Diarra From Detroit and was in Hulu’s How to Die Alone last year. Benji Brown is also making waves in the comedy scene as he’s been hosting various headliners like Martin Lawrence and Chris Rock. 

 

 

MUSIC NOTES

Speaking of Kpop Demon HuntersMark Sonnenblick who wrote the song Golden for the film has signed with Kraft-Engel Management.

 

Rock band Fame on Fire is now managed by Sound Talent Management. The band released their debut album in 2020 and they’re currently on tour.

 

 

SPORTS NOTES

49ers Offensive Lineman Colton McKivitz is now agented by Wasserman. 

 

Detroit Pistons Caris LeVert has signed with Priority Sports & Entertainment.

 

 

CASTING NOTES

Mandy Moore has signed on to star in Dan Fogelman’s new NFL Series for Hulu. Moore will co-star alongside William H. Macy and Christopher MeloniReportedly, Moore will play the daughter of Macy’s NFL team owner, while Meloni will be the coach. 

 

Hot off the Goosebumps television series, Zack Morris is set for a recurring role in HBO’s The Pitt.

 

Vera Farmiga is set to co-star opposite Mark Wahlberg in a sports dramedy for Apple. The currently untitled film will be directed by Stephen Chbosky and will be based on the German film Weekend Rebels. Farmiga will next be seen in The Conjuring: Last Rites
