Notes From the Rep Biz ~ 8/1/2025

New signings for WME, another Love Island star has new representation, Tyler James Williams has new management as well as casting notes for Chris Rock's new film! All this and more in today's Notes From the Rep Biz!

AT WME:

Producer, writer, director Stefani Robinson is now repped by WME. Robinson wrote and executive produced the FX series Atlanta, a role which garnered her four Emmy nominations and two wins. She also wrote and exec produced What We Do in the Shadows for which she received six Emmy nominations. She was also the showrunner for the FX series Adults and is currently in development on Very Young Frankenstein (also for FX) based on 1974’s Young Frankenstein. 

DJ and music producer Mahmut Orhan is also a new sign for the agency. Orhan hails from Turkey and is currently performing in a world wide tour.

AT UTA:

Country music star Brandon Wisham is now agented by UTA. The singer/songwriter was singled out by SiriusXM as their latest “Highway Find,” and his next song “She’s Good” releases on Friday August 8th.

Singer/songwriter Mon Laferte is also a new sign for UTA. The Latin Grammy winner’s next album Femme Fatale will be released in the fall. 

OTHER NOTES AROUND TOWN:

The Residence's Edwina Findley is now agented by Innovative Artists. Findley was previously seen on Amazon’s The Power and her book The World Is Waiting For You will be released in September. 

Gersh agent Mike Staudt has joined Vault Entertainment as a manager. It is unknown who will be following Staudt to his new digs, but it is believed that most of his clients will join him such as Iko Uwais, Lewis Tan, and Dolph Lundgren. 

Seoyeon Jang is now being managed by M88. The British-Korean actress was most recently seen on Disney+ Doctor Lawyer and will next appear on season 2 of Netflix’s Beef. 

Abbot Elementary’s Tyler James Williams is now repped by Range Media Partners for management. Williams whose credits include Everybody Hates Chris has been nominated for an Emmy for his work on Abbot Elementary three times. 

Ingenuity Live has signed Love Island contestant Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu. The model and actress was also a contestant on season 2 of Peacock’s The Traitors.

Pro Wrestler Zelina Vega has signed with Prototype Talent Agency. Vega has been wrestling on the SmackDown brand for WWE and won the Women's United States Championship in April.

MUSIC NOTES

Corinne Bailey Rae has signed with Wasserman, The “Put Your Records On” singer’s most recent album Black Rainbows was released back in 2023. 

SPORTS NOTES

Minnesota Timberwolves guard Terrence Shannon Jr. has signed with Octagon.

Football Player Jeffery Simmons is now repped by Athletes First.

Sports agents Jared Fox and Ron Slavin have left Sportstars and joined LIFT Sports Management.

CASTING NOTES

Ella Beatty has been cast as Lizzie Borden in season 4 of Ryan Murphy’s Monster series. Borden was notorious for being tried and acquitted for muder in 1892. Beatty was previously on Murphy’s Feud playing Kerry O’Shea and can next be seen in If I Had Legs I'd Kick You in October.

According to Deadline, Sterling K. Brown, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Winston Duke are all in talks to join the limited series The Trees based on the 2022 novel by Percival Everett. 

David Fincher and Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood sequel The Adventures of Cliff Booth has added Corey Fogelmanis to the cast. The project is wrapped in secrecy at the moment, so details are under wraps about what Fogelmanis role will be. The actor is currently a regular on Netflix’s My Life With The Walter Boys, and also appeared on Girl Meets World. Next up for Fogelmani’s Tommy Dorfman’s I Wish You All the Best set to release in November. 

Speaking of My Life With The Walter Boys, Chad Rook has joined the series as a recurring guest star. Rook has been in everything from War for the Planet of the Apes to The Flash.

Lawrence Robinson has joined medical drama The Pitt for its sophomore season. Robinson has been in everything from Law and Order: SVU and was most recently seen in the Hulu feature Three Ways. 

Chris Rock is casting his latest film, an untitled project for A24 that he will write, direct, and star in. Joining the cast are; Rosalind Eleazar, Adam Driver, Daniel Kaluuya, and Anna Kendrick.
