Whilst in school, she played the lead role in the musical Once on This Island. For a few years she danced with the group called Future Shock Oakland and she later started modeling. Her first appearance on television was in Shake It Up in which she co-starred. She has also acted in Pixie Hollow Games, Frenemies, Zapped, and K.C Undercover, as well as the high-profile features Spider-Man: Homecoming and The Greatest Showman (both 2017). Her debut album, Zendaya, was released in 2013.
