Woody Harrelson is an actor, playwright, and director raised in suburban Cincinnati. Harrelson studied in college and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and theater. In his early years as an actor he quickly rose to prominence when he appeared in the television series Cheers in 1985. He then landed parts in multiple films such as Mickey’s 60th Birthday, Doc Hollywood, Ted & Venus, and White Men Can’t Jump. In theater Harrelson has directed plays such as Furthest from the Sun and The Late Henry Moss. Awards he has won include 1 Funniest New Comer Award, 1 Independent Spirit Award, and 1 Screen Actors Guild Award.
