Tim Gunn is a television personality, actor, and fashion consultant who was born on July 29, 1953 in Washington, D.C. Gunn enrolled at an art and design college and earned a BFA in Sculpture. Gunn’s professional career started in 1982 when he worked as a dean for Parson’s New School of Design before becoming chairman in 2000. He started making a name for himself on television in shows such as Project Runway, Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style, How I Met Your Mother, and Drop Dead Diva. He published his first book in 2007 titled Tim Gunn: A Guide to Quality, Taste & Style.
