Sliverman is the sister of screenwriter Jodyne Silverman and actress Laura Silverman. She started performing stand-up at age 17 and in 1993 she landed a recurring appearance on Saturday Night Live. She made her first film appearance in the 1997 film Who’s the Caboose which she also co-produced. She appeared in various other series and films such as Pilot Season, Star Trek: Voyager, Seinfield, and Late Last Night before getting her own show aired called The Sarah Silverman Program.
