Ryan Gosling is a Canadian actor, screenwriter, director and musician from Ontario. Gosling was inspired to pursue acting when he watched Dick Tracy as a child. He used to perform at weddings with his sister, and he later dropped out of high school to pursue his passion for acting. He had his acting debut in Disney Channel’s Mickey Mouse Club in 1993. He later acted in more serious roles such as in The Believer and Half Nelson, for which he received an Oscar nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Other notable credits include Lars and the Real Girl, Blue Valentine and Drive. He is also part of the indie rock duo Dead Man’s Bones.
