Katie Couric is a journalist, news anchor, and author who was born on January 7, 1957 in Arlington, Virginia. Showing an early interest for media, Couric interned at the Washington, D.C. radion station WAVA while still attending high school. In her university years she was involved in running the school daily paper, The Cavalier Daily. In the early years of her professional career she worked for ABC News, CNN, WRC-TV, NBC News, Today, and NBC News at Sunrise. She has also hosted at other events such as the Olympic Games and interviewed numerous politicians and celebrities such as Jimmy Carter, George H.W Bush, and George W. Bush.
