Somerhalder started getting into modeling at age 10 and later at 17 he decided to pursue acting. He appeared on screen in the late 90’s with series such as The Big Easy and Now and Again. He landed his first starring role in the film Young Americans in 2000 and in 2004 he had his breakthrough starring in the hit television show Lost.
