She made her first film appearance in the 1996 television film The Treasure Seekers. In 1998 she landed a recurring role in the series The Worst Witch. She later appeared in others such as Weirdsister College, Servants, Cape Wrath, and The Diary of Anne Frank. Jones also went into modeling representing brands such as Burberry and Dolce & Gabbana. In 2016, she starred in the lead role of Jyn Erso in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
