Diana Ross is a singer, songwriter, actress, and record producer who was born on March 26, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan. In her early years she performed in the girl group called the Primettes which later changed their name to the Supremes. They were signed to Motown records and became their best selling act over many years. Ross later decided to pursue a solo career releasing her self-titled debut album in 1970 which was the first album of over 20 that she would release in her career. She made her film debut in the 1972 movie Lady Sings the Blues, she appeared in others along with multiple television shows. As a legendary artist Diana Ross numerous awards to her name including 1 Golden Globe Award, 1 BET Award, and 1 Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
