At WME:

Writer/producer Michael Learner is now repped by WME. Learner had been in the spec trenches for years while working as an executive at Hammerstone Studios where he worked on such projects as By Any Means starring Mark Wahlberg and Yahya Abul-Mateen II. His script Seeker is about an Uber driver who becomes convinced his mysterious passenger one night is the man who abducted his fiancee. The film will be produced by Hammerston and has Adam Rehmeier attached to direct. Additionally Learner is also now managed by Untitled.

In 2024 she tied for 7th in the Women’s British Open and this year she’s had runner up finishes at PIF Saudi Ladies International, Australian WGPA Championship, and the Amundi German Masters. Alexander won the KPMG Women’s Irish Open by three strokes.

At CAA:

Triple threat Annie Hamilton is now agented by CAA. Hamilton is a screenwriter, director and actor who first got her start acting in the 2016 film Dance Camp. In 2020 she starred in her breakout role in Jim Cummings’ horror comedy The Wolf of Snow Hollow, from there she had roles in Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery, Outcome and TV series Dickenson, Hawkeye, and American Horror Stories. On the writing front Hamilton’s script Three Times a Lady is being produced by A24 and Margot Robbie’s Lucky Chap, and directed by Rebecca Hall. Hamilton will also write and direct Susannah’s Still Alive, a semi-autobiographical film set up at Emma Stone’s Fruit Tree.

Brianne of Tarth has new reps! Actress Gwendoline Christie has also signed with the agency. Christie is best known for her Emmy nominated performance as the honorable and loyal Brianne of Tarth on HBO’s massively successful Game of Thrones. She also made an appearance in the first two Star Wars sequels as Captain Phasma, and recently appeared in Netflix’s Wednesday and The Sandman, and garnered another Emmy nomination for her role in Apple TV’s Severance.

At UTA:

Actress Nicole Wallace is a new sign for UTA. Wallace is best known for her leading role in the Culpa trilogy of films (Culpa Mia, Culpa Tuya, Culpa Nuestra). The first film became the most watched non-English language original in Amazon’s history, the second had the platform’s largest international launch, while the third smashed to number one on Amazon’s global charts. Coming up, Wallace will appear in Amazon limited series The House of the Spirits based on Isabel Allende’s novel of the same name, and also Amazon’s motorsports racing drama Throttled.

Since the release Young has been playing multiple headlining shows across the country and will be starting his annual Christmas tour again this December.

CASTING NOTES

The hotly anticipated adaptation of Rebecca Yarros’ Fourth Wing series has found its leads!  Esther McGregor and Emilio Sakraya will play Violet Sorrengail and Xaden Riorsen respectively in the Amazon Prime TV series. Meredith Averill is set as the showrunner of the dragon riding BookTok Romantasy phenomenon.

Amanda Seyfried is set to star in Martha & Muhammad Ramy Youssef’s directorial debut. Youssef is also writing and starring in the film, which will also feature Sharon Stone. Plot and character details are being kept a secret at this time.

Heated Rivalry’s Connor Storrie is apparently in talks for a role in the MCU’s upcoming Ghost Rider film. Rumor has it that Storrie could potentially play a villain in the film starring Ryan Gosling, directed by Shawn Levy, and written by Jonathan Tropper.

PROJECT OF THE MONTH

Whether it’s King Kong, Creature from the Black Lagoon, Predator, Tremors, or Anaconda moviegoers can’t get enough of creature features, and to cap off the spooky season is Brandon Feldman’s Canopy.

A young botanist searching deep into the Amazon rainforest in search of a rare medical cure, finds herself hunted by an apex predator in the jungle’s canopy. According to Deadline Canopy was acquired by Netflix in what they describe as a six-figure deal. Feldman posted the script to The Black List website, but this is not his first sale as he and writing partner Ben Agron’s script Manimony is set up with Emma Roberts to star.

As of this writing there are no directors or stars attached, but Canopy could be a breakout hit for the streamer given audiences evergreen appetite for creature features. Feldman is repped by Verve, Independent Artist Media, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes.
