Notes from the Rep Biz - 5-4-2018

A Magic Mike star to WME, a rapper to CAA, and several new managers around town. All this and more in today’s edition of Notes From the Rep Biz!
 
At WME:
 
Actor Joe Manganiello has signed with Brandon Liebman, Meredith Wechter, and Sean Grumman. The Magic Mike star can currently be seen opposite Dwayne Johnson in the giant monster flick Rampage, and he appears as Deathstroke in the post credit teaser of Justice League. Next up, Manganiello will star in the film Stano, which he co-wrote and is producing. He also has new managers – Kim Hodgert and Kami Putnam-Heist at Anonymous Content (both of whom once represented him at CAA).
 
Math tutor and basketball star Andre Ingram has signed with Brad Slater and Josh Pyatt. Ingram spent a decade in the NBA G league before joining the Lakers for their final two games, where he scored four three-pointers and finished with 19 points. WME will work to package Ingram in film, TV, and publishing. He is also repped by business manager Romone Penny at Pursuit Sports Group.
 
At CAA:
 
Social media star Mark Dohner has signed with Paul Cazers. Dohner created the Facebook Watch series #Relatable which is in its second season. He has partnered with brands such as Twix, Harley Davidson, MasterCard, and EA Sports. He continues to be managed by Ryan Andrews and Jason Newman at Untitled Entertainment.
 
Rapper Lil Wayne has left ICM and joined agents Caroline Yim and Zach Iser. Wayne bolsters CAA’s growing hip-hop roster, and has a huge summer ahead touring all over the country.
 
At UTA:
 
YouTube star Grace Helbig has signed with Ty Flynn. Helbig hosts the daily talk show This Might Get with Mamrie Hart, and hosts the podcast Not Too Deep. She’s also executive produced and acted in Camp Takota, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, and Dirty 30. AND that’s not all: she’s written the comic novels Grace and Style and Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending to Be a Grown-Up. She continues to be repped by manager Ken Treusch at Bleecker Street Entertainment.

Actor Mike Gray has signed with Evan Miller at Abrams Artists. Gray can currently be seen as Marshawnte “Lil Spoon” Simmons on USA’s Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac & Notorious B.I.G. He also had a recurring role on the YouTube Red series Youth and Consequences. He’s managed by Michele Large at Epic Talent Management.
 
Actor, Rapper, and Tony Nominee T.I. has signed with Bruce Solar at APA. T.I. has four number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and will next be seen on the big screen in Marvel’s Ant Man and the Wasp. He was nominated for a Tony for best original score for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical. He continues to be repped by managers Doug Peterson at Defiant Management and Brian Sher at Category 5.
 
Management Notes:
 
Think Like a Man actor Michael Ealy has signed with Kami Putnam-Heist and Doreen Wilcox Little at Anonymous Content. Ealy will next be seen in the indie thriller Motivated Seller opposite Dennis Quaid and Meagan Good, and the remake of Jacob’s Ladder. Ealy continues to be agented by Chris Hart and Ali Benmohamed at UTA.
 
Insecure co-star Yvonne Orji has signed with Norman Aladjem at Mainstay Management.  Orji plays Issa Rae’s best friend Molly on the HBO series Insecure. She’ll next be seen opposite Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish in the comedy Night School, which opens in September.
 
Beauty vlogger Carli Bybel has signed with manager Seth Jacobs at Brillstein Entertainment Partners. Bybel has more than 5.9 million subscribers on YouTube and has had several collaborations with brands such as BH Cosmetics and Misguided.
 
Roar manager Ivy Cavic has joined digital talent management company Rare Global, becoming an equal partner with founder Ashley Villa. It is believed Cavic will be bringing all her clients including – Paris Berelc, Kandee Johnson, the Merrell Twins, and Deva Delporto.
 
Cassie Duffy has been promoted to manager at Kaplan/Perrone after having worked on Michael Wilson and Lindsay Perraud’s desks.
 
ICM Agent Lauren Williams has joined Echo Lake Management as a manager and producer. It is believed that she will bring along her existing clients, such as Italia Ricci, Samantha Isler, Daisy Betts, Lana Condor, and Orfeh.
