Social media stars to CAA, a bunch of agent moves at UTA, and an Olympic curler gets Hollywood representation! All this and more in today’s edition of Notes from the Rep Biz…
 
At CAA:
 
Social media stars The Dobre Brothers have signed with Andrew Graham. The four brothers are the sons of Romanian gymnast and Olympic gold medalist Aurial Dobre. The foursome have massed over 18 million followers for their skits, stunts, and songs. CAA will work with the brothers to create opportunities in all areas including – film, TV, touring, digital distribuition and partnerships. They are represented by manager Brian Sokolik at Fullscreen.
 
At UTA:
 
TV lit agent Rina Brannen has left UTA to join Daniel Dae Kim’s production company 3AD as head of development. At UTA she repped Kim as well as writers Alex Metcalf and Zetna Fuentes.
 
Agent Bill Zotti has left CAA and joined UTA. Zotti worked for CAA for twelve years as a motion picture lit agent. It’s unclear who will be joining him at UTA but his client list included: Scott Neustander and Michael Weber, Kenya Barris, Jon Hurwitz, Craig Mazin among many others.
 
Former Weinstein TV exec Megan Spanjian has joined UTA as a senior packaging executive in the TV department.
 
Director, cinematographer and editor Alexandria Bombach has signed with Rena Ronsen. Bombach’s feature doc On Her Shoulders debuted at Sundance this year.
 
Other Notes Around Town:
 
Actress, writer, and director Heather Graham has signed with Christina Campagnola at APA for writing producing and directing. Graham’s directorial debut Half Magic – a semi autobiographical comedy about Graham’s romantic misadventures, was released in theaters and VOD last month. The actress remains represented by Leslie Siebert at Gersh for acting. She’s managed by Risa Shapiro at RMS Management.
 
Screenwriters Daniel Persitz and Devon Kliger have signed with David Saunders at APA. The duo are currently working on the Furby film for Hasbro. They are repped by managers by Lindsay Williams and Peter McHugh at Gotham Group.
 
Matt Hamilton a member of team USA’s gold medal winning curling team has signed with Amanda Marzolf at Abrams Artists. Abrams will be looking for opportunities for Hamilton in all areas including branding, personal appearance, and guest appearances on scripted and non-scripted shows. Hey Hollywood it’s high time you put a curling movie into development.
 
Writer Aaron W. Sala has signed with David Boxerbaum, Nicholas Mohebbi, and Kyle Jensen at Verve. Sala’s script Beast is currently a finalist in the 2017 Launch Pad Feature Competition. He has also signed with manager Adam Kolbrenner and Kendrick Tan at Madhouse.
