AGENCY NOTES

At CAA:

  • Taylor Allen and Andrew Logan writers of the TIFF breakout Chappaquiddick recounting the tragic Ted Kennedy car crash in 1969, are now represented by Pete Stein. This was their first screenplay, which landed on the blacklist in 2015. They continue to be managed by Chris Fenton and Chris Dowles at DMG Management. Their attorney is David Jelenko at Lichter Grossman.

At ICM

  • Agent Brad Schenck has left Paradigm to join ICM. He’ll bring along clients Scott Caan, Natascha McElhone and Jay Hernandez, among others.
  • Star of AMC’s upcoming Dietland, Joy Nash has signed with agents Andrew Kurland and Matt Smith. Nash has been seen in a ton of things since being discovered with the viral youtube video “A Fat Rant” in 2007. But Dietland will be her first starring role.
  • Newcomer Bria Vinaite the instagram co-star of The Florida Project has signed with ICM. The Florida Project is her first film and she’s been getting praised for her performance as a punkrock out of control young mother in Sean Baker’s follow-up to Tangerine. Her agents at ICM are Chuck James and Joanne Wiles, and she’s managed by Thor Bradwell at Thirty Three Management.

Other Signings around town:

  • Speaking of The Florida Project co-writer and producer Chris Bergoch has signed with Verve. Bergoch has co-written Sean Baker’s other films Starlet and Tangerine. He’ll be agented by Bryan Besser and Parker Davis.
  • Brad Pankosky and Allison Schwartz have been promoted from assistants to agents at Paradigm. Pankosky will be based in the Beverly Hills office as a talent agent, while Schwartz will be based in New York as a lit agent.

Management Notes:

  • Last week, Ryan Gosling left his longtime managers Ilene Feldman and Carolyn Govers, which is a shocking move as he has been with the two since the start of his career and through multiple company moves. Gosling signed with CAA in February just before the Oscars ceremony. And while Blade Runner 2049 hasn’t been setting the world on fire, his next project is a reteaming with LaLa Land director Damian Chazelle for First Man, where he’ll be playing Neil Armstrong.  
  • Writer/director Abi Damaris Corbin whose short The Suitcase is gaining some serious Oscar buzz has signed with Gotham Group, where she’ll be managed by Lee Stollman. She’s also repped by attorney Marc Von Arx at Nelson Davis.
