Notes From the Rep Biz ~ 10/10/2025

Charlie Sheen returns to WME! New musical acts to UTA! Dwight Howard has a new agency and comedy agents move to managers, all this and more in today's Notes From the Rep Biz!

 

At WME:

Rapper, singer, dancer, and actress Lisa is now repped by WME. The Taiwanese actress is best known for her role as Mook in this past season of The White Lotus. Lisa is also a member of the K-Pop girl group Blackpink. Her solo debut album Lalisa was released in 2021 and sold 736,000 copies in the first week in South Korea, making her the first solo female artist to do so.

 

Director Cal McMau is also now agented by WME. McMau is the helmer behind crime thriller Wasteman which premiered this year at TIFF and stars David Jonnson and Tom Blyth and set to be released in the UK in February.

 

Another new sign for WME is Charlie SheenSheen is on a career upswing as of late following the release of the documentary series AKA Charlie Sheen on Netflix and his memoir The Book of Sheen. This also comes on the heels of his seven years of sobriety. Sheen has also launched production company STRAC Media. The question is when will Hot Shots Part 3 happen?

 

Writers Anthony BagarozziCharles Mondry have also signed with WME. The pair wrote Play Dirty along with Shane Black (who also directed) which premiered on Amazon this month and starred Mark Wahlberg, LaKeith Stanfeldand Rosa Salazar.

 

 

At CAA:

Sportscaster Jolie Sharpe is now repped by CAA. Sharpe has presented for several sports including Formula 1 and the U.S. Open. She also started her own social media content agency JGS Live.

 

 

At UTA:

Instrumental jazz and hip hop duo Big Gigantic has signed with UTA. The duo’s latest album Fluorescence was released this past June and they are currently on a North American tour.

 

Singer and rapper Black Sherif is now agented by UTA. Sherif hails from Ghana and his most recent album Iron Boy  was released this past April. The album was on Apple’s top 50 chart for two weeks and hit 2 million streams on Spotify. 

 

Actor and comedian Kevin Nealon has joined the UTA roster. Nealon was an SNL cast member from 1986 to 1995. Currently, Nealon hosts the YouTube talk show Hiking With Kevin and appeared in Netflix’s Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler.

 

 

OTHER NOTES AROUND TOWN

Thomas Haden Church is now repped by Paradigm. Haden Church is best known for his role on Wings and his Oscar nominated performance in Alexander Payne’s Sideways. The actor can next be seen in Rian Johnson’s Wake Up Dead Man. 

 

Deadline is reporting that WME agent Josh Bider has joined AGI Entertainment as a manager. Bider is set to lead AGI’s newly opened Los Angeles office.

 

UTA Agent Miro Terrell and WME agent Danielle Esparza have joined Entertainment 360 to bolster the management company’s comedy roster. It is unclear who of Terrell or Esparza clients will be joining them at this time.

 

 

MUSIC NOTES

Singer/songwriter Ari Lennox has signed with Wasserman. Lennox’s single “Pressure” hit the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021. 

 

Salsa singer and jazz musician Poncho Sanchez is now agented by TKA. Sanchez rose to fame in the late 70’s and has not stopped since, winning a Grammy in 2000 for Best Latin Jazz Album. He recently released a new live album Live at the Belly Up Tavern in April.

 

Singer and songwriter Victoria Monét is now managed by Full Stop Management. Monet is best known for writing singles for Nas, Travis Scott, Coco Jonesand Lupe Fiasco among many others. She has won three Grammys, including Best New Artist in 2024.

 

 

SPORTS NOTES

Los Angeles Chargers guard Mekhi Becton Sr. is now repped by Roc Nation.

 

Dwight Howard is now agented by Innovative Artists.

 

CASTING NOTES

Netflix drama All The Sinners Bleed has cast The Morning Show’s Nicole Beharie as a series regular. The show is based on S.A. Cosby’s 2023 novel of the same name. The series stars Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù as the first black sheriff in a small southern county. Joe Robert Cole is writing and producing.

 

Cross’ Aldis Hodge has joined the cast of Road House 2 opposite Jake Gyllenhaal.

 

Stephan James and Matt Dillon have been cast as Carl Weathers and Frank Stallone Sr. in I Play Rocky. The film directed by Peter Farrelly follows the story of how Sylvester Stallone got Rocky made. Anthony Ippolito will play Sylvester Stallone in the film.
