Notes from the Rep Biz - 4-20-2018

An indie filmmaker and a sports agent to WME, promotions at CAA and Paradigm, and a former Suits star to ICM. It’s Friday April 20th, and welcome to another edition of Notes from the Rep Biz!
 
 
At WME:
 
Writer/director Gregory Caruso who’s film Flock of Four which premiered at this year’s Austin Film Festival has signed with Hannah Davis. Flock of Four is set in 1959 Los Angeles and follows four friends who go to South Central to find a famous jazz musician played by Reg E. Cathey. It is currently in limited release and will drop on Netflix in August. Caruso is repped by managers Ross Fremer and Steve Farneth at Cinetic Media.
 
Jay Danzi who was formerly COO of Lagardere Sports has joined WME as a partner. Danzi brings along golf star Jordan Spieth.
 
 
At CAA:
 
Fourteen trainees have been promoted to agents and executives at CAA. Matt Greenberg, Amanda Lie, Kirsten Polley and Jacy Schleier will be agents in the television division. Jordan Berg has been promoted to agent in digital talent and packaging. Other agents are Stevee Jo Eads to motion pictures; Allison Hironaka to media finance; John MacGregor to the theater division; and Katie Germano and Bilge Morden to music touring. On the executive side: Rachel Feucht will be in CAA hockey; Jason Hafford will be assigned Global Client Strategy; Bernard Tyler to CAA brand consulting; and Kiran Vora will be in CAA sports property sales.
 
 
At ICM:
 
Former Suits star Patrick J Adams has signed with Eddy Yablans. Adams just finished his seventh season on the USA legal drama co-starring opposite Gabriel Macht. During that time he was nominated for a SAG Award and directed several episodes of the show, including the 100th episode. He continues to be managed by Andy Corren at Andy Corren Management.
 
 
At UTA:
 
UTA has acquired electronic dance music agency Circle Talent Agency. This adds clients such as Marshmello, Kaskade, Excision, Illenium and many others. Steve Gordon and Kevin Gimble Circle Talent’s co-founders will become co-heads of electronic music at UTA.
 
 
Other Notes Around Town:
 
Paradigm has promoted eight employees to music and touring agents. Zac Bluestone and Madi Daigle will be in the New York offices, while Brewster Lee will be in the L.A. office, Kylie Doyle, Zach Hartley and Jeremy Shpizner will be in Nashville, and tour marketing agents Dani Barrett in Los Angeles and Andrew Whitaker in New York.
 
The agency has also added music agent Phil Egenthal bringing along clients such as The Revivalists, George Porter Jr., Dumpstaphunk. He will be based out of the Chicago offices. 
 
 
Management Notes:
 
Scott Schulman has been promoted to manager at More/Medavoy and Stephen Belden has joined the company from ATN Entertainment. Belden brings along his roster of young talent, such as Melanie Stone, Adam Faison, and Russell Dennis Lewis.
 
 
Publicity Notes:
 
Michael Nyman Co-Chairman and Chief Executive of PMK*BMC is leaving the company to start a new investment and advisory firm called Acceleration.
