Weekend Report, October 28, 2013
While undoubtedly the older skewing segment of the American audience is getting its share of engaging films this Fall, once Johnny Knoxville showed up as "Bad Grandpa," the youth demo made it clear they still speak the loudest. The latest from the Jackass crew wrested first place at the box office from Gravity, which is still doing exceptionally well. Captain Phillips is proving steady, while The Counselor, depsite an impressive pedigree (from Cormac McCarthy to Ridley Scott to the lauded cast), was left on the outside looking in.
