Weekend Report, November 5, 2012
Through the wreckage of Sandy, the people trudged to see Wreck-It Ralph and Flight. Both of these films are carefully crafted crowd-pleasers, and thus far crowds are pleased. The similarly engineered Argo continues to thrive, as does Taken 2. The Man With the Iron Fists is certainly more niche, but it's $8.22M debut is still a disappointment for those who hoped it might crossover from the hip-hop martial arts audience (i.e. young males). At this point, everyone is counting down to Skyfall's premiere this weekend, which promises to be substantial. Let's just hope there's no recount to distract us from Bond.
