Weekend Report, December 10, 2012

For a second week in a row, no new release has cracked the top five. In this case, the conspicuous under-acheiver is Playing For Keeps, the Gerard Butler romantic comedy that finished sixth in its opening weekend. While this film screams lukewarm all around, it is no doubt still a disappointment for the Gerry Butler team, who really have not been able to find him strong material since he became a household name. Too bad he couldn't have been James Bond (they've gone Scottish before!) since that franchise seems extremely robust at the ripe old age of 50.
