Notes From the Rep Biz ~ 8/21/2026
A superstar comedian to WME! Several actors to CAA! A lauded director to UTA! Noah Wyle switches up his rep team, Miami Vice is getting a reboot, and even more X-Men casting news (one who is this month’s Artist Spotlight!) All this and more in today’s Notes From the Rep Biz!
At WME:
Up and coming country rock group DELTONA is a new sign for WME. The trio has picked up a head of steam by self releasing their music with their latest single dropping this month.
WME also now reps comedian and actress Nikki Glaser. The three time Emmy nominee’s special premiered in 2016 on Comedy Central with a Netflix special following in 2019, but it was her performance at The Roast of Tom Brady in 2024 that really launched Glaser into star territory. She was first nominated for an Emmy for her special Someday You’ll Die. In 2025 she became the first woman to host the Golden Globes solo, she was nominated for her hosting duties at the ceremony in 2026, and will host the Golden Globes again next year. She has also made appearances in Trainwreck, and Abbot Elementary. Next up she will appear in the Nettflix film The Fifth Wheel starring Kim Kardashian and directed by Eva Longoria. And she is set to co-write and star in MASH for Paramount, and co-write and star in a Judd Apatow produced comedy.
Actress and producer Leah Remini is also a new sign for the agency. Remini is best known for her co-starring role on the CBS sit-com The King of Queens which ran for nine years. She was also the host and co-producer of the A&E series Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath. Additionally she was one of the first co-hosts of daytime talk show The Talk.
At CAA:
Macaulay Culkin is now agented by CAA. Culkin skyrocketed to fame with the 1990 hit Home Alone and from there he had major roles in various films including Home Alone 2, My Girl, The Good Son, and Saved! More recently, Culkin had a role in Zootopia 2, season 2 of Fallout, appearances in The Rightous Gemstones, American Horror Story, and Running Point for Netflix. Rumor has it that Culkin is in talks for a Home Alone legacy sequel for Disney Plus.
Josh Hartnett is also now repped by CAA. Hartnett came to fame in the late 90’s with high profile roles in The Faculty, Halloween: H20, and The Virgin Suicides. He was a mainstay of blockbusters throughout the 2000’s as well with Pearl Harbor, Black Hawk Down, and Sin City. Lately he’s been having a bit of a career resurgence with Trap and Oppenheimer. Next up, he will appear in the Colleen Hoover adaptation Verity opposite Anne Hathaway and Dakota Johnson.
The Death Star has also signed Barry Keoghan. Keoghan is best known for his roles in Dunkirk and Saltburn. He also made a cameo appearance in Matt Reeves’ The Batman as the Joker opposite Robert Pattinson and he will return as the character in The Batman 2. Keoghan is also playing Ringo Starr in the Beatles biopic from Sam Mendes.
At UTA:
Director Leah Nelson is now repped by UTA. Nelson’s directorial debut Tangles premiered in May at the Cannes Film Festival. Tangles (based on the graphic novel by Sarah Leavitt) is a dramatic animated film about a young woman taking care of her mother after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's. The film stars Julia Louis Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Seth Rogen, and Abbi Jacobson. Tangles will have its North American premiere at TIFF.
Singer/songwriter Marina is also a new sign for the agency. Marina is best known for the single “Electra Heart” from 2012. Her latest album Princess of Power was released last June to much fanfare.
OTHER NOTES AROUND TOWN
Writer, director, actor, comedian, and producer Damon Wayans is now agented by Verve. Wayans is the co-creator of the legendary sketch comedy series In Living Color. More recently Wayans starred in the ABC sitcom My Wife and Kids for six years and the CBS sitcom Poppa’s House with his son Damon Wayans Jr.
Speaking of Verve, Noah Wyle has left the agency. Wyle has been on a hot streak recently with the massive popularity of HBO’s The Pitt. It is unclear if Wyle will be joining another agency at this time. He remains managed by Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
Hot off the release of season three of My Life with the Walter Boys, actress Nikki Rodriguez is now agented by Independent Artist Group. Prior to Walter Boys Rodriguez was on the final season of another Netflix series, On My Block. But her performance as Jackie Howard endeared her to audiences and made My Life with the Walter Boys a certified hit.
MUSIC NOTES
R&B artist nomi. has signed with The·Team. Nomi. is an up and coming artist who has earned many accolades including Best New Artist by music discovery platform Pigeons and Planes.
SPORTS NOTES
Washington Mystics Center Lauren Betts is now repped by LIFT Sports.
Roc Nation now represents San Diego Padres right fielder Fernando Tatís Jr.
Arizona Cardinals Cornerback Will Johnson is now managed by 3 Arts Sports.
CASTING NOTES
The long awaited Legend of Zelda film is picking up some notable cast members. Lydia Peckham, Dichen Lachman, and Yvonne Strahovski have all been added to the upcoming video game adaptation. While Uli Latukefu is set to play Ganondorf, the main villain of the Zelda series.
Universal is gearing up a high profile reboot of classic TV series Miami Vice. The film will be written by Tony Gilroy with Joseph Kosinski set to direct. Michael B. Jordan, Austin Butler, Alden Ehrenreich and Whitney Peak are all set to star.
It’s been the casting announcements all the geeks are talking about. At D23 this past weekend Marvel unveiled some of the cast members for the upcoming X-Men film. We already knew (thanks to Spider-Man: Brand New Day) that Sadie Sink would be playing Jean Grey, Kit Connor as Cyclops and Samara Weaving as Emma Frost. However, Christopher Abbott will be playing Professor Xavier, and hot off her incredible performance as Nikki in Obsession, Inde Navarrette is set as Rogue. Adam Driver will be playing Nathaniel Milbury (aka Mr. Sinister) and newcomer Maya Boyd will be playing Storm. Which leads us too…
ARTIST OF THE MONTH
Storm is a fan favorite character in the Marvel universe, not only because of her status as an X-Man, but also because of her connection to Black Panther. With Maya Boyd announced as Storm in X-Men and rumors swirling that she will appear in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther 3, Boyd’s career is about to hit like a lightning bolt befitting the mistress of the elements herself.
Coming from the theater world, Boyd’s first major role was in the 2023 Broadway revival of the musical Merrily we Roll Along. She followed that up by playing Juliet in & Juliet , a jukebox musical which was a reimagining of Romeo and Juliet. This past April, Boyd starred in the Broadway revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone playing Mary Cunningham.
We suspect to be seeing much more of her in the years to come. Boyd is repped by Paradigm and Artists First.
