Box Office Round-Up ~ 12/1/25

As expected, Zootopia 2 made the most of its Thanksgiving opening, pulling in $80.8 million from Friday to Sunday and a massive $142 million over the extended five-day weekend. It surpassed the original Zootopia’s $76 million opening weekend from back in March 2016 and is already past $500 million worldwide. If it can clear a billion worldwide, it’ll be only the second movie of the year to do so after Lilo & Stitch. Either way, it’s another win for Disney.

In second place, Wicked: For Good continued its successful run with $61.7 million, putting it at $269 million overall in the U.S. Now You See Me: Now You Don’t took third place with $6.9 million, putting it at $49 million over three weekends. Predator: Badlands entered its second month on the big screen by snagging another $4.8 million, putting it at $85 million overall. The Running Man took fifth place with $3.7 million for just $34 million total in its third weekend.

The first weekend of December looks to be a crowded, eclectic one, with awards contender Hamnet expanding to wide release, alongside horror sequel Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Quentin Tarantino’s long-awaited Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, and Jujutsu Kaisen: Execution, which looks to capitalize on anime’s successful box office run this year.
