Welcome to the Series Snapshot, a weekly deep dive into the shows topping the streaming charts.

The new limited series, Untamed has taken the number one spot at Netflix this week. Set in the wilderness of Yosemite national park, the series stars Eric Bana as a federal agent investigating a woman’s death as he battles the elements. The six episode series is getting fantastic reviews, with critics and audiences praising the suspenseful writing, quick pacing, visuals and performances. Untamed also stars Sam Neill and Rosemary DeWitt, and comes from creators Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith.

Love Island UK reclaims the most-watched title at Hulu this week. The reality series’ high ratings this week may be attributed to an episode featuring the first ever “Love Island Festival”, which featured a surprise musical performance by Tinie Tempah. Additionally, in a twist, the most popular couples of the week will decide to send home two contestants, and another two will be returning. Anticipation is high and so is the ensuing drama.

MAX continues to see three shows, Rick and Morty, And Just Like That…, and The Gilded Age dominate the charts. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there will be any exciting new original series on the platform until the fall, when Dune: Prophecy will premiere its second season. Fans will have to wait for new seasons of The White Lotus, The Pitt, and It: Welcome to Derry, a new series set in the universe of Stephen King’s It. In the meantime, MAX subscribers are overwhelmingly streaming Rick and Morty, which comes from series creator Dan Harmon, and stars Ian Caroni, Harry Belden, Spencer Grammer, Chris Parnell, and Sarah Chalke.

Book series turned Amazon original, The Summer I Turned Pretty, began its third season this week, shooting up to the most watched spot, and receiving generally positive reviews from fans and critics. The new season released its first two episodes July 16th, and will continue with weekly releases through September 17th. The show is adapted from the books by author Jenny Han, who is also the creator, writer and showrunner. The series stars Gavin Casalegno, Lola Tung, Christopher Briney, and Rain Spencer.

AppleTV sees its popular science fiction series Foundation, officially take the number one spot, after missing it by a hair last week. The series continues to garner praise for its stunning visuals and special effects, and adept performances from the main cast. Foundation stars Jared Harris, Lee Pace, Lou Llobell and Leah Harvey, and comes from creators David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman.

Once again longtime running medical drama Grey’s Anatomy Disney as its top streamed show this week. It’s clear that in the off-seasons tried and true staple programs take up much of viewership. We saw this pattern earlier in the year with General Hospital clinching the top spot while there weren’t many new programs to speak of. Grey’s Anatomy stars Ellen Pompeo, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr., and was created by Shonda Rhimes.
