Eastern Conference Finals: Game 5

For the second time in these Eastern Conference playoffs, LeBron James is facing elimination. After a third straight dispiriting road performance against the Boston Celtics, Lebron and the Cavs are going to have to win their next two games in order to extend their Finals streak to four years. With the way every Cavalier other than James has played this series, its hard to imagine that happening. The Celtics jumped on them from the opening tip and were rarely threatened in the 96-83 win that was, frankly, boring. Neither team shot the ball wall - only star Celtic rookie Jayson Tatum had what could be called an above-average offensive performance, with 24. Suddenly, Game 6 on Friday could be LeBron's last in a Cavalier uniform.

Before the season, many people predicted the Celtics could get to this point. Difference is, that was with an expected starting lineup that included All-Stars Kyrie Irving and Gordon HaywardThey have neither, and they're still just one win from the Finals. Cleveland native Terry Rozier has filled in admirably in Irving's stead against his hometown team, while Hayward's absence all season has undoubtedly fueled the growth of both Tatum and fellow young wing Jaylen Brown. This group still has yet to prove they can reliably win on the road, but have now improved to a staggering 10-0 at home in these playoffs. We're not in the prediction business, but it's smart to assume this thing is going seven. At this point, that would have to favor this young Celtic squad.
