Ne-Yo is a singer, songwriter, and actor who was born on October 18, 1979 in Camden, Arkansas. Ne-Yo grew up with strong musical influences having both parents as musicians. He used to be part of a group called Envy, which he left before moving on to writing songs for various artists such as Christina Milian, Teedra Moses, B2K, and Musiq. He had his big break when the song he wrote for Mario titled “Let Me Love You” became a chart topping hit, which lead to his signing to Def Jam Recordings and the release of his debut album In My Own Words in 2006. Ne-Yo has also appeared in multiple tv shows and films. Awards he has won include 2 BET Awards, 2 MOBO Awards, and 2 Soul Train Awards.
