Dakota Johnson is an American actress and model raised in Colorado and California. Johnson has deep roots in the entertainment business: both her parents, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, and maternal grandparents, Tippi Hedren and Peter Griffith, had celebrated careers as actors. Johnson acted in her first film, Crazy in Alabama, in 1999, which starred her mother, and was directed by her then step-father, Antonio Banderas. After graduating from high school, she decided to pursue acting full-time and landed a role in the 2010 film The Social Network. Her rise in fame began in earnest when she booked the role of Anastasia Steele in the film adaptation of the "Fifty Shades" series of novels. Johnson has won a number of awards including 1 Hollywood Film Award, 1 Women’s Image Network Award, and 1 Golden Globe Award.
