Box Office Round-Up ~ 11/3/25
There’s nothing scarier for movie theaters than Halloween on a Friday. With trick ‘r treating followed by the final games of a high-profile MLB World Series, it was a very quiet weekend at the box office, with no major new releases to speak of. Black Phone 2 won the weekend with $8.3 million, passing $61 million domestically. Regretting You had a surprisingly strong sophomore weekend gross of $7.8 million, thanks in part to its role as the de facto counter-programming for moviegoers trying to avoid Halloween and horror.
Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc took in $6.2 million, also in its second weekend, for $30 million total so far. Bugonia — reuniting director Yorgo Lanthimos and star Emma Stone — expanded wide for a $5 million gross, putting it past 2024’s Kinds of Kindness but still short of Poor Things’ $34 million run in 2023. Rounding out the top five was another re-release as Back to the Future celebrated forty years by adding another $4.9 million to its $221 million domestic gross. (We’re now a decade past 2015 and still waiting on proper hoverboards, btw.)
November sees the beginning of a final round of blockbusters and awards contenders for the year, starting this coming weekend with Predator: Badlands, Sydney Sweeney-led biopic Christy, and Die, My Love, the latest from writer/director Lynne Ramsey (We Need to Talk About Kevin), starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson.
