Weekend Report, November 4, 2013

Undaunted by controversy, Ender's Game stormed to #1 in its opening weekend, although maybe not with enough energy to stay there for long. Nonetheless, the film adaption of the popular novel by Orson Scott Card (whose political views lent the film its controversy) had enough to win the weekend. Old people and kids canceled each other out, as Last Vegas and Free Birds were a virtual tie for third place behind Bad Grandpa (which appeals to young and old alike).
