Notes from the Rep Biz - 02-07-2020

At WME:

WME continues to woo movie stars away from CAA, this time claiming Robert Downey Jr., along with his wife Susan Downey and their Team Downey production outfit. The point agent for the Downeys will be Philip Raskind.

Another big name to trade CAA for WME is Miley Cyrus, who will be repped by WME in all areas. Her team will include Andrew Finkelstein, as well as Marc Geiger and Brent Smith on the music side.

Perhaps in a sign of the times, WME's other major sign last week was six-year-old multi-millionaire vlogger and social media star Anastasia Radzinskaia, best known for her Like Nastya channel.

At UTA:

Jerry Harris, one of the breakout stars of the Netflix phenomenon Cheer, has signed with the agency, specifically with the recently acquired Digital Brand Architects, where they will focus on building his brand as an influencer.

Another breakout from a hit streaming series, High School Musical: The Musical - The Series star Joshua Bassett has signed with a team that includes Brian Nossokoff and Chris Hart, as well as David Zedeck in music.

Other new signs for UTA include British actor Theo James, as well as rapper/actor (and Chance The Rapper's twin brother) Taylor Bennett.

At CAA:

Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio has signed with CAA across the board. Her reps will include Olivia Owen and Christian Carino.

British actor Rufus Sewell (The Man in the High Castle, Judy) has signed with a team that includes Mitch Bukhar and Jaime Feld.

French actress Adèle Haenel, one of the stars of the acclaimed Portrait of a Lady on Fire, is now with Hylda Queally.

Actress Adria Arjona (True Detective, Six Underground) is a new sign for the agency, where her team will include Alex Mebed and Franklin Latt.

Other signs for CAA include actor Dean-Charles Chapman (1917), model/actress Slick Woods, and actress Ruby Rose Turner.
