Anthony Bourdain is a television personality, chef, and author who was born on June 25, 1956 in New York City, New York. Having a family from France, Bourdain used to visit the country in his youth and it was there that he fell in love with food. After dropping out of college, he worked in seafood restaurants before deciding to sharpen his food knowledge at the Culinary Institute of America. After graduating, he ran the kitchens of numerous New York City restaurants. He wrote his first book in 2000 titled Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly which was a success and helped him land his first television show in 2002 called A Cook’s Tour.
