Notes from the Rep Biz - 12-15-2017

At WME:
 
In music news band Kings of Leon have signed with WME. Their latest album “WALLS” was released last October was the band’s first number one on the billboard charts. The band’s manager continues to be Andy Mendelsohn at Vector Management.  
 
Instagram’s most watched stories of 2017 creator Lele Pons has signed with Chris Jacquemin. Pons became internet famous on Vine when she was just in highschool garnering 6 million viewers (the first Vine user to do so).  She has parlayed her internet fame into modeling deals, co-hosting MTV’s Latin America’s millennial awards, and a judge of the Miss Universe pageant last month. She’s managed by Shots Studios.
 
At CAA:
 
Ferdinand screenwriter Time Federle has signed with CAA. Federle is also the author of the Nate Foster YA novel series and the libretto for the Tuck Everlasting Broadway musical. He continues to be managed by Magnet Management.
 
The agency is also upping 10 trainees to agent:  Austin Denesuk in the TV Department.  Bennett Beckner, Joseph Harris, Madison Lee, and Joe Mott in the music dept. While Callie Rivers and Maddy Roth are now execs in the agency’s philanthropic wing -- CAA Foundation. Beth Enstrom is now in CAA golf. Tee Stumb in Sports Talent Sales. And Erik Telford is now an agent in the speakers group.
 
At UTA
 
Terry Crews has signed with Chris Hart and Jo Yao at UTA. Crews dropped WME last month after suing them and former head Adam Venit for sexual assault. The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star continues to be managed by Troy Zien at 3 Arts.
 
Newsroom and 10 Cloverfield Lane actor John Gallagher Jr. has signed with Christopher Highland and Theresa Peters at UTA. And the actor has a new manager in Byron Wetzel at Byron Wetzel Management. Gallagher Jr. will next be seen in the Sundance film The Miseducation of Cameron Post opposite Chloe Grace Moretz.
 
Other Notes Around Town:
 
Beverly Hills 90210 actress Tori Spelling has signed with Abrams Artists Agency in its digital department. This will supports Spelling’s brand alliance and focus on expanding her brand across social media platforms. Spelling, was last seen in the Lifetime original Movie Mother, May I Sleep with Danger? opposite James Franco, will continue to be repped by Ruthanne Secunda at ICM in all other areas.
 
Also at Abrams – filmmaker Matt Eskandari has signed with Ryan Levee. Eskandari’s latest film the indie thriller 12 Feet Deep was released this past June.

PR Notes:    
 
Publicists Liz Mahoney, Megan Moss Pachon, and Bryna Rifkin have all left ID PR. Mahoney, Pachon and Rifkin’s clients include Casey Afleck, Amy Adams, Jon Bernthal, and Richard Jenkins among others. It is unclear at this time where the three will end up, but the rumor is that they’ll be starting their own company. Also unclear who will follow them to their new digs (wherever that may be). 

UPDATE: The Wrap is reporting that Liz Mahoney, Megan Moss Pachon, Bryna Rifkin and Heidi Lopata are forming their own company Narrative Public Relations and bringing along with them clientroJennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams, Josh Brolin, Marion Cotillard, Emilia Clarke, and Chris Evans.
