Notes from the Rep Biz - 11-17-2017

It’s not terribly surprising, but last week Louis C.K.’s agency (APA) who represented him for touring, management company (3 Arts) and publicist (Kovert Kreative) have all dropped him as a client.

At CAA:

Family Guy and Orville creator and star Seth MacFarlane has left WME and signed on with Risa Gertner.

Calvary filmmaker John Michael McDonagh (brother of Martin) has signed with John Garvey and Roeg Sutherland. McDonagh’s most recent film War on Everyone starring Alexander Scarsgard and Michael Pena was packaged by the agency.

John Travolta who just finished playing John Gotti in the film Gotti has left CAA. He continues to be managed by longtime manager Randi Michel at Principato Young.

Emmy nominee Annabella Sciorra has signed with Danielle Shebby and Peter Levine. Sciorra has been in the news lately as she has accused Harvey Weinstein of rape. She continues to be managed by Norman Aldjem at Mainstay Entertainment.

A Girl Walks Home at Night and The Bad Batch filmmaker Ana Lily Amirpour has signed with Alex Mebed. Coming up Amirpour will be directing episodes of FX’s Legion and the National Geographic documentary series Breakthrough.

Other Signings around town:

Weeds and Mr. Mercedes actress Mary-Louise Parker has left WME and signed on with UTA and managers Greg Clark and Jason Weinberg at Untitled Management. Parker will next be seen in Red Sparrow starring Jennifer Lawrence.

Michael Brooks, Derek Blum, and Ryan Levee have all joined Abrams Artists as agents. Brooks comes from AKA and will be in the personal appearance department. Blum joins from APA and will be in the alternative media department. Levee, also previously at APA joins the literary department.

Rebel Entertainment Partner’s Debra Goldfarb has joined Gersh as a non-scripted agent. It is unclear at this moment who will follow her to her new digs, but executive producer Jack Martin, Michael Miller and Indigo Films are expected to.

Management Notes:

Pamela Adlon has dropped her manager 3 Arts’ Dave Becky amidst the sexual harassment allegations leveled at Louis C.K. (Becky’s former client). The Better Things co-creator, star, and executive producer remains represented by CESD for voice overs.

Similarly, Kristin Chenoweth has dropped Primary Wave after allegations surfaced over former CEO David Guillod. She continues to be agented by Adam Schweitzer at ICM.

PR Notes:

Publicists Chris Rossi and Mona Loring have joined forces to launch STATUS PR. Rossi is the co-founder of Core PR while Loring is the founder of MLC PR. The new company will merges over 300 clients including Mike Colter, Carrie Preston, Ryan Guzman, Tricia Helfer, and, Trevor Jackson.
