Weekend Report, May 28, 2013

$300 million. That was the benchmark for Memorial Day weekend, and it has been surpassed. The top five listed below represent a record-breaking box office tally. Fast & Furious 6 proved that the franchise still has massive juice, while The Hangover Part III was able to underperform and still cross $50M. The Fox animated film Epic surprised by taking in over $40M against the tentpoles, making for a weekend the studios will want to remember for a long time to come.
