Weekend Report, December 9, 2013

Heroines continue to reign supreme, with Frozen and Catching Fire trading places, but still holding onto the top two spots. If you throw in Gravity, this has been a very lucrative fall for female-driven films. Once again, a testosterone-fueled film failed to take down the queens of the box office, as Out of the Furance opened to a paltry $5.3M (a shame, considering the strength of its cast). The last challenger from that side, Homefront, fell out of the top five, as Delivery Man, starring former sure thing Vince Vaughn, limped back up a couple of spots.
