Joseph Gordon Levitt is an American actor and filmmaker raised in Sherman Oaks. Gordon-Levitt’s interest in performing started at an early age. After being discovered by an agent, he appeared on numerous television commercials before he started landing starring roles in series and films, most notably in the long-running sitcom 3rd Rock From the Sun. He made the transition out of childhood stardom very successfully, starting a career as a producer and filmmaker in addition to his work as an actor. Some of his most notable film appearances include Inception and (500) Days of Summer. In 2016, he starred in the real-life political drama Snowden.
