Gerard Butler is a Scottish actor from Renfrewshire. As a teenager, Butler got acting training from the Scottish Youth Theater. He studied law in university where he also sang in a rock band. After being fired a week before qualifying as a lawyer, he decided to pursue fame in London. He worked odd jobs for a while before making his onscreen debut in the film Mrs.Brown in 1997. After a few more films he landed his first starring role in Dracula 2000. Over the years he landed parts in more high budget films before getting his international break starring in 300, RocknRolla, Gamer, and Law Abiding Citizen.
