Christian Bale is an English actor perhaps best known for his portrayal of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Christopher Nolan trilogy. Bale’s first stint in acting was in a 1982 commercial. He made his first film appearance in the 1986 TV-Film Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna. After gaining some experience, he landed more lead roles and gained significant recognition with his role in the 1987 film Empire of the Sun. After this, he appeared in several other films such as Little Women, Velvet Goldmine, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream before gaining international prominence starring in American Psycho in 1999. He won the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his work in The Fighter.
