Chris Colfer is an actor, singer, songwriter, producer, and author who was born on May 27, 1990 in Clovis, California. Colfer was bed-bound for three months when he was a child due to surgery. The experience became a major influence to his interest in fictional worlds. He loved writing and involved himself in drama and debating throughout his schooling years. Early on as a professional actor, he appeared in various stage productions such as West Side Story and The Sound of Music, and a short film titled Russel Fish: The Sausage and Eggs Incident. He had his breakthrough in 2009 when he landed a part in the hit series Glee. In 2012, He acted in the first film he wrote and produced titled Struck by Lightning.
