Bill Hader is an American actor, comedian, and writer born and raised in Tulsa. Both of Hader’s parents were involved in the performing arts; his mother was a dance teacher and his father an occasional stand-up comedian. Hader dropped out of college and moved to Los Angeles to pursue filmmaking in 1999. In L.A. he worked as a production assistant on films such as Spider-Man, Collateral Damage, and James Dean. He started performing in the comedy group The Second City. He later got discovered and was hired to work in Saturday Night Live where he rose to fame and later became a host. Other shows and films he’s appeared in include Tropic Thunder, Adventureland, Year One, Men in Black 3, and Human Giant. As a creator/producer/star, his credits include the IFC series Documentary Now! and HBO's Barry, for which he won an Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy.
